They begin with Alpha Construction that uses premium hand-laid rubber over 5mm of naturally insulating neoprene, ensuring durability and waterproof protection. For the hunter that wants a little extra warmth for later season, these boots are available with Thinsulate Ultra insulation. And they also feature LaCrosse’s signature adjustable gusset that fits any size calf comfortably and securely.
I wore these boots for a spring turkey hunt in eastern Oregon’s Blue Mountains and can attest that they performed well. I crossed barbed wire fences and walked through briar patches, all while keeping my feet dry and comfortable.
One of the most impressive features of this boot is how flexible it is straight out of the box. Especially for a pair of rubber boots that weigh four pounds per pair, this is very impressive. The boots were also very quiet, which was important when I was on the gobbler roost in close proximity to my bird.
In addition to their flexibility and out-of-the-box comfort, these boots are a great fit for hunters who hunt upland birds like grouse and woodcock in swampy river drainages or for bowhunting whitetails in timber stands. They have plenty of stability to help you hold your ground while walking through muddy conditions.
The boots have a durable rubber outsole paired with a midsole constructed from LaCrosse’s lightweight LXA compound for optimal rebound and cushioning. And the boots feature a kick-off heel plate for hands-free removal.
The boots are available in uninsulated, 800-gram and 1,200-gram Thinsulate insulation models for the hunter that plans on using them through most of the deer season as well. And for those turkey hunters out there, these boots are offered in Mossy Oak Obsession that matches the tones of mottled tree bark and pine and oak foliage that commonly appear during the spring turkey season.
