Lacrosse Rankings 2021

The National Lacrosse Federation has begun compiling player rankings in consultation with college coaches and club teams. These lists are meant to highlight players that could make a significant impact at the next level. The 2021 class is deep, particularly on defense. There are a lot of defenders and LSMs who could go on to play a major role for their college programs in the future.

The top five remain unchanged from last week as Deerfield, Malvern and St. Anthony’s hold their positions. The Friars won the New York state title by defeating Chaminade 12-11 in a thrilling third-game rubber match. Andrew McAdorey (Team 91 / Duke) was spectacular, providing the kind of game-changing offensive performance that makes him one of the best prospects in the country.

Culver slips down a slot after losing to Taft in the semifinals of the Geico Nationals. Taft moved up a spot thanks to the superb effort of ’22 Thomas Ricciardelli (Eclipse / Notre Dame), who stopped 21 shots in the championship game.

Long Island Express faceoff man Will Lynch (Nebraska / Notre Dame) is another big contributor for the nationally-ranked Crabs. He is an explosive player who moves quickly and uses his size to take away ground balls. There aren’t many 2021 defenders with better instincts for taking away the ball from offensive threats.
