Lacrosse Yearbook Headlines
Lacrosse season is almost upon us and as the new year approaches, the excitement for this great sport can be found in the newspaper’s Lacrosse Yearbook. For those of you who may not be aware of what a yearbook is, it is basically a supplement to the more formal sports section of the school paper. Unlike other sports publications such as a daily newspaper, the main attraction of a yearbook is that it usually includes a large number of pictures and exciting articles which are related to the teams and players. There are two different kinds of yearbooks: the recruiting yearbook, and the all-star yearbook.
A recruiting yearbook usually focuses on the upcoming recruiting season and includes various pictures of current and past players along with the profiles of the coaches, staff and other notable individuals. The all-star season, on the other hand, gives a more detailed look at the lacrosse roster and features profiles of the top lacrosse players as well as some highlights from recent games. These yearbooks are highly sought after among lacrosse players, since they give an inside look into what the team is up to as well as the exciting things the team is planning to do throughout the season. All-star or recruiting yearbooks are extremely difficult to get hold of, since college and high school athletic directors have to worry about other programs or even having their schools involved in the yearbook.
Now, we all know that the lacrosse star will be chosen to represent the school at the college game, but what about the players who make up the rest of the team? A lacrosse yearbook headline is the first thing that represents the entire team and gives fans a short history of the players, their roles and any important accomplishments that they may have made during their playing careers. These type of things are often written in the month leading up to a player’s graduation. Other popular topics include the school colors, whether the school has a mascot or if there is one and why it is important to the school.
Some colleges and universities have their own logos for their sports teams and so they will incorporate those into their yearbook headlines. The yearbook headline for a school that has its own mascot can include information about that specific mascot along with important history information. For instance, the yearbook for Harvard University features pictures of campus buildings made from the student’s urine.
Other topics included in the yearbook headline may be a list of notable alumni and how long each of the players have been at the school. These can also include pictures of major events such as a tournament win or an appearance at a school versus a team from another area. Any information that would show the excitement and level of play of the school can also be placed in the yearbook.
The lacrosse yearbook is released just before the start of every lacrosse season. There is typically an announcement in the back of the yearbook, a small inside story, and then a list of who each player is and where they went to high school. The yearbook is a great way to keep current students up to date on all of the events that take place at the school including any transfers or hiring new staff members. If you are a parent or a teacher of a player at this particular sport, then it would be a great idea to get one of these yearbook headlines printed for use by the players. It gives them a quick snapshot of what’s going on with their favorite college sports team.
